Δ 英文正確用法指引(二) - 36 冠詞(1)

John is first in the race. --------> O
John is the first in the race. -----> X

要表示名次時，序數“first“、“second“、“third“等的前面一般不用加冠詞“the“；但要表示一般的次序時，序數前則要加“the“：
Andy is first in the 100m race.
Andy is the first person to arrive here.

掌握好冠詞的特性與用法，一般來說，名詞前常都需要加上冠詞“a“、“an“、“the“：
Δ要表示“某一“未提及或未知的人或物時用“a“或“an“，如：She is a good girl.
Δ要特別指出“這 / 那一“或“這些 / 那些“已知的人或物時用“the“，如：The students in this school are good.
Δ要表示一些獨一無二的東西時也要用“the“，如：the sun、the sky，人名前不能加任何冠詞。
