Roy is 150cm tall. ----------> O
Roy is 150ch high. ---------> X

The shelf is 90cm long. ----------> O
The shelf is long 90cm. ----------> X

有的英文形容詞的意義非常接近，但用法不同，例如：形容詞“tall“和“long“都可用來形容高度，但“tall“可用來指人或物的高度，而“high“則只用來指物件或建築物的高度。

容易弄錯的形容詞：
good - 好的 / well - 健康的
small - 小的，不帶感情 / little - 小的，帶感情
high - 高的，指物 / tall - 高的，指人或物
big - 大的，體積 / great - 偉大的
long - 長的 / tall - 高的
empty - 空的 / blank - 空白的
flat - 平坦的 / smooth - 滑的

形容詞雖然一般會放在要描述的名詞前面或be動詞後面，但是要表示某人或物的實際高度、長度、重量等的時候，一般或把形容詞放在數字之後。
Peter has wide shoulders.
Peter's shoulders are wide.
Peter's shoulders are 55cm wide.
